Top 3 Fitness Apps

We were featured on CTV Edmonton today where they asked us to pick our top 3 fitness apps and here they are:

GymBoss Interval Timer App1) Gymboss Interval Timer:

This is our go-to interval timer here at Blitz!  We love it primarily because of it’s ease of use: you can set your own intervals very quickly, change the interval colours and sounds and save the intervals for later use.  One of the things we’d love to see in this app is the ability to run in the background or when the screen is off.

NikeTraining App2) Nike Training Club:

Looking for a workout while on the road? Want to switch up your current exercise regimen? Nike Training Club has a constantly expanding full workout library with great how-to videos and an all around clean and polished look.  One of the things we’d love to see in this app is the ability to run the video while doing the workout: at the moment you have to interrupt the workout to see the video.

MyFitnessPal App3) MyFitnessPal:

This is one of the most downloaded fitness apps of all time.  We primarily use it for nutrition tracking since it has a vast library of nutritional information.  The only warning for this app is that if you type in a goal of weight loss the app will underestimates the amount of calories needed at around 1,300 cal which is far too low talk to a nutritionist or a dietician before setting the daily caloric intake.

  1. I definitely agree with the choices! Although I use Kettlebell Swing Time for the interval timer. And because I’m now a proud Fitbit owner the Fitbit app has to be in my top app list too!
