IMG_0889Who has a love affair with chocolate? Don’t worry you don’t have to admit it out loud if you don’t want too. But what if I told you, you could indulge in delicious chocolaty brownies guilt free?

Gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar free, but don’t worry- you don’t have to sacrifice flavor! These brownies are delightful, and no one will ever guess you’ve used black beans and chia seeds, infusing these brownies with tons of fiber.

The recipe calls for raw cacao, which is a powerhouse full of antioxidants. It also produces feelings of happiness and can improve mental alertness. It contains great levels of magnesium, which is an essential mineral during times of stress and helps you to feel more relaxed. Magnesium is also a great muscle recovery for athletes 😉

1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

3 medium eggs

½ cup coconut sugar

1/3 cup coconut oil, at room temperature

¼ cup raw cacao powder

2 tbsp chia seeds

2 tsp pure vanilla extract

½ cup semisweet dark chocolate chips (gluten free)

¼ cup raw cacao nibs


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a food processor or blender, combine black beans, eggs, coconut sugar, coconut oil, cacao powder, chia seeds and vanilla. Process until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips. Transfer mixture to the baking pan. Level with a spatula and sprinkle with cacao nibs. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a fork inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan before cutting.
