At this point in December, you should be aware of your festivity obligations for the rest of the month and possibly into January. If you are not aware, now would be the time to figure out when and where you are expected to be since this can play a huge role in your emotional or physical health. I know, planning isn’t sexy or exciting but some form of planning is the key to success in many areas of life and it is a strategy I often recommend. We will discuss planning events for less stress & … [Read more...]

Yes, cows milk is high in calcium, but whether a diet high in dairy calcium protects you against osteoporosis or any other disease is a matter of considerable debate. Dairy-free, Gluten-free and Refined-sugar free Granola Bars

It can be tiring and difficult to find a granola bar that isn’t full of useless additives that we just don’t need. I know everyone loves a little sugar (or a lot), but our bodies are just not designed to handle massive amounts of it. When I came across this recipe I was so excited because the ingredients called for whole-food substitutes. Dates and honey contain natural sugars and are great energy boosters. Wouldn’t you rather eat foods that have an expiry date on them than foods that somehow … [Read more...]

Why fats are good for you

We also can’t forget about … [Read more...]

This Journey Isn’t a Reality Show – 90 Day Challenge

Over the last few months, there hasn’t been a week that I’ve gone down a whole dress size or lost 20lbs like they do on TV shows like The Biggest Loser (TBL). Comparing my journey to those on TBL might be straight up stupid, but really our goals are the same, our journey is just different. I’m not to sure if such an extreme regime is the best way to start, I work out 5-6 times a week, some days its boot camp for 30mins and others it’s two hours of gym and yoga, fitting in 2-4+ hours of fitness a … [Read more...]
