How To Do: Kettlebell Snatch (Video)

After you get the high-pull mastered it is time to move on to the snatch. Much like the clean there is a lot you can do from the snatch, but only once you get it mastered. Done right this id a great exercise to build power, and endurance. Here is how to do it:

  1. Start with the kettlebell between your legs
  2. Squat down, and grab it
  3. Explode up as if you were going to do a High Pull
  4. Remember keep your core engaged, and DO NOT LET YOUR BACK ARCH!!!!
  5. Make sure lead with the elbow, and use mainly your legs for power
  6. Once your elbow is at the top of the high pull movement shoot your up straight up
  7. As if to punch the sky
  8. Now don’t fall over, and try not to stumble back, focus on staying straight
  9. Once you have control return the kettlebell back down to the ground
  10. Repeat same side, or switch hands
