WHOOPS!

Wrong definition!

Let’s try this again…

com·mu·ni·ty [kuh-myoo-ni-tee] noun, plural com·mu·ni·ties
a social, religious, occupational, or other group sharing common characteristics or interests and perceived or perceiving itself as distinct in some respect from the larger society within which it exists (usually preceded by the ): the business community; the community of scholars.

What’s awe-inspiring about fitness challenges, lifestyle changes or anything involving bettering your life is that you’re never alone. You won’t be stranded on a one-person island with no help in sight. There will always be someone willing to push you further – even when your stupid brain is telling you to stop. When you surround yourself with like-minded people, they will always be there to give you that extra kick in the ass you need.

Remember when I told the tale of how I conquered the Devil’s Staircase? I didn’t do it alone. An awesome group of us continued to do  ‘just one more’ until we completed 10! In case you’ve forgetten and your memory needs a good jog, check it out HERE. Now every week, the same community of people get together to lay a whooping on those stairs and we have more people joining all the time!

Chris blogged earlier this week about how even the longest journey begins with a single step. Well imagine if on that journey, there’s a group of travelers willing to aid you on your quest. United by a common goal to defeat your inner health demons.

The path may appear to be perilous, but there’s nothing you can’t do if your a member of a Fantastic Four, eight, 12, 16, 20 and so on!

I am proud to be a member of some amazing communities that are aiding in my travels to fight the obese overlords. If you’re looking to join a super team, we are always looking for members of the Fitness League! *heroic music*

Now let’s talk progress.

My pants are starting to get a tad bit baggy and my shirts aren’t fitting as snug any more. (Little Victory) My diet is improving but I’m still falling back into a few fast foodie habits. I think I needed these relapses because after trying certain fast foods, I felt like I was gut-kicked by a yeti and didn’t say, “MMMM. I’m glad I ate that!” Next week’s update will be dedicated on the changing my food fuel from unleaded to premium. Because aside from the brain, the stomach is quite the adversary.

In terms of workouts, they’re getting easier and harder at the same time. I’m doing more big-boy push-ups then before and am working out longer. However as I get stronger, the workouts get more intense and a different kind of challenge arises. For example, there’s a workout called a “Hero Maker” and let’s just say that my hero is still a work in progress…

In term of weight loss. I haven’t lost that much. Although it’s a tad discouraging, I know that what’s happening is that my fat is packing it’s bags and muscle is moving in. The weight loss will come. For now I will just move forward on my quest and help others along theirs.

So this week’s Question is:

What’s your favourite group fitness activity?

Please share in the comments section below!

Until we meet again!

Namaste,
